Atlanta's Civil War Battlefields Tour

The fall of Atlanta in 1864 was pivotal in determining the war's outcome. This important Union victory assured U. S. president Abraham Lincoln's reelection and ultimately led to the Confederates defeat.

The tour stop first at Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield.
On June 27, 1864, Kennesaw Mountain, located about twenty miles northwest of Atlanta in Cobb County, became the scene for one of the Atlanta campaign's major actions in the Civil War (1861-65).

On the next stop, the Atlanta History Center.
Explore the most critical conflict in our nation's history through one of the nation's largest exhibitions on the Civil War featuring more than 1, 500 original artifacts, photographs, dioramas, videos, and interactive components.
