Discover ancient history of Tuscany and Italy through the Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Firenze.
Florence is famous worldwide for its Renaissance era. However, this should not make us forget its origins as a Roman town founded in a region characterized by another fascinating ancient Italian culture, the Etruscans.
The Etruscans were a sophisticated culture that taught much to early Romans, in fact three out of the seven kings of early Rome were actually Etruscans! This culture gave Romans precious inventions and innovations - the arch, the alphabet, even gladiators' games were originally developed by the Etruscans.
Through this tour you will get to see several masterpieces from Tuscany's ancient past, belonging both to its Roman and Etruscan heritage. You will also get to see a lavish collection of coins and cameos once belonging to the Medici themselves.
At the tour's end, we will enjoy a coffee break or a glass of wine on a terrace overlooking the city's rooftops, where you can relax after spending enjoyable time admiring the precious masterpieces of the museum.
-- Visit of the Museo Archeologico, and often, but unjustly neglected site by foreign visitors to Florence. A good place to visit if you have already been to the city and want to see something different!
-- meet in front of the museum
-- proceed to visit a selection of the museum's collection with the tour guide
-- the Medici's own coin and cameo collection will be seen as well
-- at the tour's end will proceed to have a coffee or spritz perhaps, in a bar with a view on the
rooftops of Florence.
