A tailormade walking tour in a Jazzy town - Private tour
Vienne, a 30 000 inhabitants town, is situated 30 kms from Lyon. Its roman temple, roman theater and medieval cathedral relate us the prestige of another times. This is also the place where a festival of Jazz takes place every summer. The city is also very well situated in an agricultural area which produce wine, fruits, vegetables and other good food, sold each Saturday in one of the biggest markets in France. It is a nice place to go shopping.
Meeting point in front of the train station in Vienne. Walking tour in down, visit of the cathedral, the temple, Cybele Garden, painted wall, shopping street and stop in a bar to taste local specialities. End at the train station.
If you like walking very much, we can also go to the top of the hill (hiking tour). Please mention it in advance, thus I'll take good shoes! ;)

End location: At your hotel in Lyon.

It is not possible to visit the cathedral after 6:00 pm and on sunday mornings (because of the office). The most of the time, i'm not informed of the impromptu funerals in the cathedral. From the last weekend of June to the middle of July, the Jazz festival takes place in the Roman theater and in the public Garden "Cybele". There is a market each Saturday morning in the city center, but it doesn't prevent us to visit the city.

Our trip to Vienne with Emilie was everything I had hoped for. Cannot believe how much she managed to show us in a very brief amount of time. Her knowledge of the history of the area is impressive. She also gave us some ideas as to other things to see while in Lyon....and perfect directions for taking the Metro to return to Musee Des Beaux Arts. We were fortunate to spend time with this lovely person! She is a tribute to Tours by Locals.
