Explore the Farmer's Market and food shops
We'll start the tour at the heart of Ann Arbor's food scene - the Farmer's Market! Located in the historic Kerrytown neighborhood, the market offers a wide array of local produce, meat and other products. After exploring the Farmer's Market and gathering some seasonal produce to focus our meal around, we'll head on the hunt for other ingredients. Stops will include the world famous Zingerman's Delicatessen, where you'll have a chance to taste 100 year-old balsamic vinegar, amazing cheeses and meats, and anything else you'd like to sample. We'll also visit the local fishmonger and butcher, sample some smoked fish, and learn a little about Ann Arbor's hippie history with a stop at the People's Food Coop.
After our shopping bags are full we'll head back to the kitchen for a hands-on cooking class with the results of our hunting and gathering. You'll enjoy a delicious 3 or 4 course lunch that you helped to make!
We'll spend around 90 minutes exploring the Farmer's Market and nearby shops before heading back to the kitchen to cook. The next two hours will be spent preparing and eating lunch.
