Art and politics
The Acropolis is the greatest highlight of Athens. It was the religious centre of the city and was built with the intention to make Athens the "school of Greece".
The Agora was the centre of the public life, the heart of the athenian democracy. Great men and dramatic moments have left their traces.
Tip! See the best preserved ancient temple
Our first stop is the ancient theatre of Dionysos. Continue to the Nike temple for a panoramic view, Propylaea and to the great temples, Parthenon and Erechteion. Search for Athena's olive tree and Poseidon's well.
Passing by Mars hill and the Pnyx we enter the Agora, Focus on the most important buildings of the athenian democracy and Hephaistos temple. Finish at the museum of Attalus stoa.
Optionally, we get a glance at the antiques bazaar in the Old town and the exhibition in Monastiraki metro station.
