Amazingly Interesting, varied Amazon Jungle and High Andes Combination PRIVATE Tour
Private version of one of travelers' favorite routes/places. Flexible, diverse, tour can be tailored for you or left the way it is; you will LOVE it. It can be several days longer. Popular with large, impersonal, commercial (usually up to 35 travelers) bus, group tours, we go East from Quito up, up, for afternoon and night at hot springs Papallacta with snow covered Antisana volcano looming. The next day we drive down, down, the Andes east side to the Amazon on the exact route Pizzaro and Orellana tragically took to the Atlantic in 1541 - 2, 300 miles! We end at Rio Napo, Amazon tributary, for delightful two nights at Casa del Suizo high above the river, taking jungle canoe day trips. We depart for Banos with stops at Puyo wildlife rehab and tiny Shell, named for the oil company, a flight jumping off point to deep jungle. We tour beautiful Banos, stay the night and go to Cotopaxi volcano and afternoon meal at Hacienda Cienega, return to Quito. Quoted price is for 1 to 3.
Up to 10 can go - see below
Day 1 - hotel pick up and on out and up to Papallacta for afternoon and night and rose farm visit if desired; Ecuador produces best/most roses in the world. Difficult to gain admission, but I can.
Day 2 - depart for Amazon, four hour drive to Rio Napo and canoe accessed, riverfront, hotel Casa Suizo with afternoon river canoe touring with Indian guides
Day 3 - jungle touring using Indian, motor powered canoes and guides
Day 4 - depart for Banos with stops at Puyo wildlife rehab center and Shell jungle access airport, afternoon beautiful Banos touring, waterfall and mountain swing and overnight. We can ride the basket over the deep ravine if you like.
Day 5 - morning Banos touring and on to Cotopaxi and gorgeous, 400 yr. old Hacienda La Cienega for late lunch and return to Quito
A SPECTACULAR, VARIED, Ecuador introduction trip never forgotten and will bring you back for more of the places you most like. In its way it equals the Galapagos.

Vivian's first priority in her tour is ensuring your safety. She is upbeat and happy to talk about anything related to Ecuador that you are interested in. She is also flexible in the tour. We had wanted to do some hiking at Cotopaxi instead of spending more time in Banos, and she worked with us to make those changes to the itinerary. This tour was a great opportunity to see both the Amazon rainforest to the Andes to the volcano at Cotopaxi. Really great to see such different parts of Ecuador.
