Discover the Roman Mallorca as well as the most violent revolution in this island's history
If you are on holiday in Mallorca and you are fond of Ancient History and Military History as well, then you are lucky.
There is a stunning place in Mallorca that combines unique heritage from both worlds, the Roman Age and the Modern Age.
This place is the Town of Alcúdia. This magnificent spot is one of our most well preserved historical treasures. Here you can visit the former Roman City of Pollentia and explore the impressive Christian walled town, as you discover how Alcúdia played a decisive role in the conflict that ravaged our lands more than any other during the Modern Ages: the Revolution of Ses Germanies.
Join me on this tour and discover another fascinating little piece of our history!
We will start our tour visiting the Roman City of Pollentia, a set of ruins that will make you understand the Roman presence in Mallorca.
Then we will go for a stroll throughout the walled town of Alcúdia, where we will follow the trace of old medieval institutions to find out how the city was founded and how the first Christian settlers prospered in a hostile environment.
Finally, we will climb up the city walls to accurately reproduce what happened during the Revolution of Ses Germanies in Alcúdia that made this stronghold to be so decisive for the end of the war.
After the tour I can take you back to the place that suits you the most.
