visiting Bempton cliffs and Spurn point
A full day tour taking in two contrasting areas of the Yorkshire coast, the high chalk cliffs of Flamborough (including Bempton cliffs RSPB reserve with is gannets and puffins, and the 3 mile (5km) long sand spit of Spurn separating the North sea from the Humber estuary. En route we will make optional stops at Skidby mill, Beverley and or Bridlington. This tour afford opportunities for coastal photography and bird watching as well as (optional) bracing coastal walks. We will pass a number of places where lunch can be taken with a choice of local seafood (especially fresh crab from Flamborough: can be taken in pub or 'al fresco') or Fish and Chips (from Bridlington or Hornsea)
Morning pick up before departing for Beverley (50 mins)with a chance to view the town from te westwood pasture before a walk around the outside of the Minster, Englands finest non-cathedral church. Then on to Skidby Mill, the only working english windmill north of the Humber. The Humber bridge can be seen from Skidby, but we will go right to it, wit two or three stops to see viewpoints and an option to drive across (toll).
Now into te centre of Hull with a short stop to see old and new architechture before the drive (45 mins) to Spurn. Here we will go to te lighthouse and walk on both shores (tide permiting).
Now we turn nort and drive through te different seaside towns of Witernsea (lighthouse) Hiornsea and Bridlington to reac the dramatic calk cliffs of Flamborough with visits to Bempton Cliffs (for gannets and puffins in season) and/or Thornwick.
Tere are also considerable number iof options including boat trips from Brid, or taking the Hockney route throug te wolds (extra time may be needed)

Meeting location: This tour can start from your hotel, other places within the East Riding area, or from your point of arrival, for example P&O ferry terminal
End location: End location can be your hotel or point of departure from the area
Duration: 11 hours
not including time for optional extras (can also be sligtly shortened on request, min 9 hours)
Tour can be taken in a choice of vehicles, one with ramped/clamped wheelchair space (max. 2 passengers in addition to wheelchair user).
Transport throughout the day in a choice of vehicles, information along the way and (often bad) jokes.

15 pounds stirling - including coffee at Skidby or Beverley £2-3 per person
lunch: choices include - crab to eat al fresco £3-4, Seafood in a pub £10+, fish and chips £4-7.

Entry to RSPB Bempton is £3.50 per car, I am a member.
Short boat trips are available from Bridlington for a few pounds per person.
Entry to (YWT)Spurn nature reserve is £3 per car (I am a member). Entry on foot is free, but its a 3 mile walk to the lighthouse!
If, as I would expect, RSPB and YWT do not ask you to pay for entry, I would suggest a small voluntary donation.
