2000 years of history
Everyone has heard of NEW York but not everyone knows of OLD York, the best preserved ancient city in England. Half a day is barely enough to see the major sites but we will do our best! A visit to the cathedral, known as York Minster is a must as it's the largest cathedral of its age in England. A walk on the ramparts, a tour of the labyrinthine old streets (shopping stops are allowed !) a visit to one of the many ancient parish churches, ruined abbeys, the Norman Clifford's Tower or one of the many museums. . it's your choice but I'll make sure you don't miss the many little curiosities hidden away in the alleys.
This tour can be extended to a Full Day in York or with an afternoon excursion to one of the nearby stately homes of Yorkshire. Please ask for a quotation.
The itinerary will be tailored to the interests and walking ability of the client. All the major sites of the city will be seen or visited including the cathedral, walls and ancient streets.

We spent a fantastic afternoon touring York with Michael! He was very experienced, knowledgeable, friendly, punctual and prepared. We learned a lot and felt like old friends by the end of the 4-hour tour. We would highly recommend hiring Michael to anyone traveling to Yorkshire.
