Oldest, largest and most famous royal castle in the world
Built nearly 1, 000 years ago high above the River Thames by King William the Conqueror as a fortress, but also a palace--and still lived in today. The favourite home of our Queen Elizabeth II where she spends her weekends and the month of April. Architecturally containing all eras of British building. Stories of Knights and Dragons. St. George, England's patron saint has his Chapel here where the Knights of the Garter (the highest Order of Chivalry in the land)have their home in its beautiful gothic setting. See the palaces royal state apartments and its treasures, as well as the 1:12 functioning Doll's House with working electricity and water system even working lifts. Protected night and day by the Queen's guardsmen where we could see the changing of the guard. This is the burial place of Henry VIII and his favourite wife, Jane Seymour, mother of Henry's only son and heir. And within the same vault, the body of executed King Charles I.
We shall meet either at the hotel of the travellers or at Paddington Station for a train to Windsor during which time I can fill them in on the fascinating
history of Windsor Castle--the longest inhabited Palace in Europe, with architectural styles which display all eras of British building. You will hear about the various Kings and Queens who lived here over almost 1, 000 years of history.
Within the Castle grounds, we can see Queen Mary's Dolls House, and the State Apartments in the Castle and St. George's Chapel where Henry VIII and his favourite wife, Jane Seymour are buried. We can see the changing of the guard at the Castle.
We will return to London by train to Paddington station. The travellers might prefer to stay longer in Windsor for lunch at a recommended restaurant or café.

Our last of 3 days (see my Comments on her Highlights of London & Royal Maritime Greenwich tours), Dianne created this tour for us, as our youngest son wanted to see both Windsor Castle & Hampton Court Palace. She arranged a shuttle to get us to Hampton from Windsor. I had left our Tickets for both at the Hotel, but with her help they were able to quickly verify my purchase. Despite being very quite at Windsor she was cautioned not to guide. She handled it and everything else well. She is the best.
