The Capitol, National Mall and the White House with private guide
See the Most Famous Places -- the Capitol, the White House, the Lincoln/Jefferson/World War II Memorials, the Smithsonian Museums -- and the smaller monuments between them. Take those photos you need to show all your relatives back home that you really came here! We'll use a combination of walking, Metro (subway) and perhaps taxi if you become tired.
This is a shorter (or longer) version of the other Introductory Tours; six hours has proven to be a comfortable walking time for many travellers and allows us to get inside some places.
Typically: (most outside, some enter) US Capitol, Supreme Court, Library of Congress, National Mall and Smithsonian museums, White House, Washington Monument, World War II/Vietnam War/Korean War Memorials, Lincoln/Jefferson Memorials; if time permits, walk through The Castle (the original Smithsonian building) and visit the beautiful Peacock Room. Some sites we will visit, some see from a distance, depending on time and energy.
We will be sure that when you are done you have a good idea of the layout of the city, where the museums or other places you plan to visit later are, and how to use the DC transportation system. And I'll give you a map!

Weather for this walking tour was less the desirable, we all made the best of it. Hayden provided a good over view of the city's design and layout. All of our questions were answered. We always enjoy a private guided tour of any city we visit. This time spent was well worth our time.. Thank you...
