Since coming to Washington I have had a strong interest in local history and architecture, becoming active in historic preservation and neighborhood development. With a hobby of walking the city's various areas I know virtually every famous and minor community here, and love taking friends and visitors around. I have been a licensed professional guide since retirement (2004), working with large groups (often students) and individual walking tours. As a private guide, customized, private tours -- introducing the city's Famous Places, and going into smaller, local spots -- are a particular pleasure.
A Recent Review of this guide
Four of us enjoyed our time with Hayden very much. Lots of interesting facts and highlights pointed out to us. A time to get reacquainted with the impressive historical attractions of the city and introduced to the new.
