A private tour to get the flavor of the city's past & present
Get to know and appreciate both present day and past Washington as conceived by designer Pierre L'Enfant by strolling along Pennsylvania Avenue, the capital's first thoroughfare, to the White House while learning the history of our capital since its inception.
Stroll thru beautiful Lafayette Square and hear some of the tales of its storied past residents; visit the Renwick Gallery, a Smithsonian treasure; pass by Blair House, the President's official guest house; the Old Executive Office Building and St. Johns Church, the president's church; listen to the protestors in front of the White House; and generally experience Washington, past and present. We conclude the walk in City Center, the new " Rockefeller Center " of DC, the rebirth of downtown DC, located between New York Ave. on the north and H St. on the south, and between 11th and 9th streets.
Start at the Andrew Jackson statue in the middle of Lafayette Square which is across the street from the White House to start the tour and end the tour in "City Center" DC located between New York Ave. on the north and H St. on the south, and betweem 9th and 11th streets.
