Private Car & Walking Tour

The tour is perfect for visitors who are interested in the life of Jewish people before, during and after WWII in Warsaw and Poland.

Although the Jewish quarter was completely destroyed during the Jewish Ghetto Uprising in 1943, there are still a lot of remnants of the Jewish culture in the city.

You will learn about great Warsaw's inhabitants such as the composer Wladyslaw Szpilman, the main character of the "The Pianist" by Roman Polanski, Literature Nobel Prize winner Isaac Bashevis Singer, as well as the paediatrician and children's author Janusz Korczak.

If you want to change the program of the tour, make it for a larger group of people, make it longer or visit a museum, let me know. I am flexible and will do my best to make you satisfied.

We are going to start the tour with the center of the former Jewish ghetto, Grzybowski Square (Synagogue, pre-war Jewish buildings).

Then we will see a fragment of the ghetto wall which survived the war.

Next we are going to see the place where the famous Footbridge which connected the small and the big ghetto was, we will see some old photographs, as well as the Keret House, "the narrowest house in the world. "

Later we will see the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews and Monument to the Ghetto Heroes as well as Umshlagplatz where Jews were assembled for deportation to death camps (a visit to the museum is not included in the tour. )

In the end we will walk in the Jewish cemetery to see monuments and matzevas which date back to the 19th century.

A Recent Review of this tour

I booked with Gosia for both of my first two days in Warsaw. After a good nights sleep, I was ready to focus on the Jewish sites in the city. In particular, I was deeply moved by my visit to the cemetery...a site that should really be more famous than it is. In the end I was more than satisfied with both of my tours with Gosia, and recommend touring with her wholeheartedly!
