lovely peninsula, fishing villages, home of artists and seaside resorts
Come with me on a journey through some of the most scenic locations in Mecklenburg Vorpommern. Warnemünde will be our first stop. Later we will drive to different places at the Peninsula. Ahrenshoop is an artists village. It is famous as an art centre and numerous galleries, studios and workshops are open to welcome interested guests. Small lovely harbours are situated along the "Bodden" shallow lagoons. Traditional fishing boats zeesboot with reddish-brown sails. You can eat fresh smoked fish directly out the oven. The lagoons are a paradise for surfers. It is not only the lagoons that attract visitors but also the small cliffs, miles of wild, romantic white sandy beaches and the unspoilt Darss forest as a part of the National Park. Watch the trees along the road which were formed by the almost constant westerly wind. An other seaside resort is Prerow with old thatched fishermen's cottages, the pier, skippers houses with the famous Darss front doors, small shops and inns, is a delight to stroll around.

This tour and the guide were wonderful. The seaside towns were lovely. It was nice to see some things which were off the beaten path. The tour guide was very flexible when two members of our party could not come for medical reasons and when our ship's arrival in port was delayed due to thick fog. I highly recommend this guide and this tour.
