Discover one of the most important landing of the WWII
The September 9th 1943 Salerno was the foothold in Europe for the allies and the Operation Avalanche was the first big landing to release the Italians from the NaziFascist power.
In this tour we will follow the tracks of the landings and of the most important battles in the area of Salerno during these tragic days where a lot of soldiers died.
From the museum to the beach we will discover the places where the brave U. S. and Commonwealth soldiers fought for the freedom of Italy and Europe.
In these areas started the end of the World War II.

We will go to see the Museum of Landing where, through pictures and objects from the World War II, we can follow the history of the days when the allies landed.
We will move to the beach of the landing in Paestum where the U. S. soldiers fought against the Nazists. We will see the ruins of a bunker used by the Germans and the area of the Tower where a strong battle was fought.
We will see the ruins of another important place where the allies, after an entire day of fight, destroyed a German camp.
At the end we will visit the War Cemetery where Commonwealth soldiers, sailors and airmen are honoured.
