A private tour featuring a nature park, lunch in the world's largest log hotel, and a surprise townsite visit
We leave Ottawa for a one hour drive to Montebello, QC , home of PARC OMEGA, a nature preserve featuring dozens of Canadian wildlife species. We drive through the park which is divided into different zones, each the habitat for different species of animals. Photo opportunities abound. If you bought carrots from the park centre you can feed the deer. Stop at observation areas if you wish. We will take all the time you need.
Following the park visit, a short drive takes us to Chateau Montebello, once a private club and now a world famous hotel - the largest log building in the world. Choose a light lunch or a full meal from the superb menu. Eat outside or in depending on the weather.
Prefer something simpler? Lots of restaurants and cafes on the main street.
Returning home, we'll stop at the site of a once-flourishing mill town perched on the edge of the escarpment for a taste of the nineteenth century.
