Day trip from Fez towards the Roman ruins of Volubilis, the Holly city of Moulay idriss and the Imperial City of Meknes .
Discover two UNESCO sites in one day: the unearthed Roman city at Volubilis and the Imperial City of Meknes.
After a morning pick up at your hotel in Fez.
Your first stop will be the ruined Roman city of Volubilis. Marvel at the famous sights, like the basilica, the triumphal arc, and the many palaces with their exquisite mosaics.
Next you will make a quick stop in the adjacent small town of Moulay Idriss Zerhoun. Perched atop a hill overlooking Volubilis, Moulay Idriss Zerhoun houses the mausoleum of Moulay Idriss I, the first Arab king of Morocco.
Your last stop will be the mighty walled Imperial City of Meknes. Smaller in comparison to the other Moroccan Imperial Cities. Still, Meknes's old city offers a trove of sights for a curious visitor: Moulay Ismail's massive stables, capacious granary. You will also visit the monumental Mansour Gate, the covered food market, and the El Hidem Square.
Once finished with this busy day of sightseeing, we will take the highway back to Fez.
