I suggest to start the tour in Kaminaljuyú, a Mayan archaeological site located within the city limits. This will give you an idea about how ancient the human settlements are in the valley.
After that, I'll take you to the "Mapa en relieve", a scale model of the country map of Guatemala, where you can learn a general idea of the Guatemalan topography.
We also visit the Historical Center: including the Central Square, Central Market and other historical buildings.
Optional visits to museums upon request:
National Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology.
Popol Vuh Museum (Mayan Archaeology).
Ixchel Museum (Mayan weaving and textiles).
At some point, we can stop for a refreshing drink in a local bar or coffee shop.
After this, we drive around some of the modern areas of the city on the way back to your hotel or the airport (in case you're on a layover).

Nestor offered an ideal combination of knowledge, friendliness, flexibility and caring. Because one of the members of our party had some scheduling issues, we had to re-think our schedule and make a detour to pick her up. He couldn't have been more accommodating. He knows his way around Guatemala City and was able to minimize traffic delays caused by a demonstration downtown. At every point of interest, he answered all our questions and provided valuable insights into what we were seeing and its history.
