I was born and grown up in Finland, have studied photography in Finland and Germany. I live and work with my Stud-Io Immagino Venezia fotostudio in Venice since 1996 next to the Rialto bridge.
I am in love every day more and more with the beauty of the city of Venice and the lagoon, its' relaxed and depending-on-tides life-style and its' habitants. Beeing a very curious person I can't wait to show and bring You to some of the locations out of the beaten track I've discovered during my 22 years living in Venice center! During my tours we go away from the crowds, take it easy photographing the Venice of the venetians, it's hidden courtyards, silent minor canals, the Rios with rowing boats, discovering its' still existing traditions in the city and on the islands of the lagoon. You can book my walking tours any time of the day from the dawn to late evening. I am very patient to teach and explain You, when needed, the techniques of digital and analogical photography to assist You to improve Your photographic skills in exposing and composing photos with Your own camera, photographing architecture, landscape, people. . .
Visiting Venice is very interesting also out of season. In winter period at certain periods Venice gets flooded by the high tide we locally call 'Acqua Alta', fantastic opportunity to shoot pictures of flooded streets, shops and restaurants, people waiting on bridges the lower tide. Ofcourse we'll get You rubber boots before going off for the phototour.
If you'd wish to rent bikes, go visit archeological sights or have other particular wishes, pls ask for a customized tour.
A Recent Review of this guide
This is a fantastic tour to not only take good photographs but to be expertly guided around Venice. Eva is a lovely person, very easy to get on with and speaks perfect English. She met us at our hotel and then took us all over Venice. We saw a whole range of canals, bridges, private gardens, courtyards and the Rialto Market in the morning. We also found a fantastic ice cream shop. Eva is very informative not just on tips on taking better photos but on Venetian life in general. An excellent morning tour.
