I was born in Munich, Germany, the most northern Italian city, as people in Munich like to say ;-)
I studied art history and history at the University of Berlin specialising in Italian art and graduated with a thesis about Venetian Art. During my studies I came to Venice with a European stipend to study at the Ca'Foscari University of Venice.
What was planned to be just a one-year-stay turned out to last a little longer. And here I am 18 years later, still living in beautiful Venice.
I never stopped reading about Venice, its past and present and I am still researching Venetian art and architecture. The more I learn, the more I am fascinated by its uniqueness and its breathtaking treasures.
Working as a tour guide is a wonderful job: I absolutely love to share my knowledge about this marvellous city with people from all over the world. I love to explore and re-experience Venice daily. . . taking people off the beaten tracks, away from the crowds, there is always something new and fascinating to see and discover and all of this comes together with the fabulous Venetian life-style. Life is slow here. . . there is always time to taste a Venetian 'ombra' (glass of local wine), together with some delicious cicchetti or have a Spritz in the famous cicchetti bars.
