Experiencing old European town
A tour that encompasses exploration of one of the Croatian prime center of culture and a hidden gem- Varazdin.
Beautiful historic town Varazdin is about an hour away from Zagreb, in the Northern Croatia. It gained popularity after high grades of respected tourism organizations.
Its history goes back to medieval times when it thrived as a merchant center. During the 18th century it was the capital of Croatia, and a popular center for nobility and aristocracy associates to build palaces and exhibit luxury and pomposity. It is a town of gorgeous Central European architectural styles, reminding a lot of charming Austrian towns, and on this tour we shall thoroughly explore the city center in order to truly feel and understand Varazdin, its history, but also its present.
People are often enchanted by the beauty of Varazdin and are glad to have made the choice to have come and visit it.
During this hour and a half walking tour of Varazdin we will visit and walk through its historical center, seeing places such as Old Town castle (and walk along its fortification hill for some nice vistas of Varazdin).
We will then continue to see some of its other parts such as the Stancic square; Traditional crafts sqaure; Ursulin church and convent, Franciscan square, King Tomislav square and the Cathedral, the Vatroslav Jagic Park, and many other places.
NOTE: if you are interested to spend more time in Varazdin, please take a look at my longer tours that will be published soon.
