There is so much to see in this beautiful place. Instead of trying to see it all in one day, why not slow down and take time to enjoy the sights. On the first day of this tour, we will visit the southern part of the bay. Our destination is Boca de Tomatlán, Jalisco. This small fishing village is the last settlement accessible by road. Here you will see the fishermen coming and going from the mouth of the river, and watch the pangas (water taxis) taking passengers to the beaches accessible only by sea. On day two we will head north to La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, Nayarit. In contrast to the quaint fishing village, La Cruz is a modern marina where you will visit a bustling fish market, wander along the waterfront watching the fishing charters and beautiful yachts preparing for the sea. Each day is flexible. The important thing is to take our time and get a real feel for the diversity of this beautiful paradise.
Each day will begin at your Puerto Vallarta location. On the first day will will head to Boca de Tomatlán. We will drive through the downtown area of Puerto Vallarta along the colorful Malecón, stop at Los Arcos for pictures and possible some shopping at the roadside tiendas. After our visit to Boca de Tomatlán, we can stop at a artisan tequila distillery on the way back to Vallarta. We can have lunch in Boca de Tomatlán, or stop on the way back to town at an authentic Mexican restaurant. On day 2 we will drive through the resort area of Nuevo Vallarta on our way to La Cruz de Huanacaxtle. In La Cruz we will spend the day at the beautiful modern marina and the fresh fish market. We can have lunch at the Yacht Club or enjoy a sandwich at the modern marina while watching the activities of the bay. The itinerary is flexible. Depending on the day of the week, there may be a local market or festival to enjoy.
