In Europe, and especially in Spain, you need a special license issued by local authorities to work as a tourist guide.
I graduated at Valladolid University in Tourism and Arts and Culture Management, but my passion has always been history and art.
My spoken English is good, during the university I also spent one year in Dublin as an exchange student.
From 2010 I'm an active member of Castilla y León Tourist Guide Association.
In my job I love to transfer to my guest my love for the art, the history and the traditions of my home region so that they can really feel it as a true Castilian feels it.
After four years as a tour guide I learned the importance of customer service, something that in Spain is not always highly valued. . .
I'm looking forward to meeting you in Castile and Leon.
A Recent Review of this guide
We had a thoroughly enjoyable walking tour of Salamanca with Javier. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the city up to present day and was able to answer all our questions. He made great suggestions for the buildings and exhibitions we should visit given our limited time, as well as directing us to some good eateries.
