The best of Valencia with private car + Excursion: Jewish/Roman Sagunto Tour, L'Albuferra, El Puig, Lladró, Customized Tour
This is your customizable version of a Valencia visit, including one of the nearby country-side regions. If this is your first time in Valencia, this is your best choice to make sure you don't miss the city itself, but to also include a unique experience in the country-side, quaint town, mountain or lagoon.
Valencia Highlights + one of the following or your own customized:
-2 Speciality sites in Valencia City such as Fallas Museum Tour, Marques de Dos Aguas, Cathedral, or other less known site
-Sagunto Medieval Jewish Tour and/or Sagunto Roman Town Tour
-L'Albuferra private tour with boat ride, a protected natural park with over 300 bird species
-El Puig, my hometown, 13th-18th century Royal Monastery visit and hill-top battlefield tour
-Cave Boat rides through the longest subterranean river in Europe
-Valencia Residencial Neighborhood Tour: Vetting to live in Valenia with or without Valencia Apartment Tour
We start with a panoramic circle of Valencia seeing the new America's Cup Port and Formula 1 track area, Malvarosa beach stop, University areas, Football Club's Mestalla Stadium, Calle Colon with bull-ring and Plaza Ayuntamiento, Roman ruins and library (the oldest psychiatric hospital in Europe!), Torre de Quart and Serrano.
In the historical pedestrian center, we will see the most emblematic of monuments and then enter the Cathedral, La Lonja (the famed Silk Exchange of the 15th cent. ) and the Central Market where I treat you to a fresh squeezed juice.
Upon leaving the center, we stop at Calatrava's 'City of Arts and Sciences' with its 7 futuristic structures, en route to L'Albufera lagoon. We have lunch (not included in price) at a typical old Valencian farm house, a 'baraca', (or other typical rest. when closed). Finally we finish our day at the romantic lagoon picture stop and see the rice paddies and protected birds up close with a boat tour from a Valencian native expert of this area.
Meeting Location + Tour Duration
Meeting location: Hotel or Port, or other requested spot. Please note: If at port, I will be meeting you at 9am this Thurs. at the 'Acciona Transmediterranea Terminal', which your ship may directly dock at or it may dock a few minutes away. If it is not directly at that terminal, it is a restricted area that only authorized vehicles can go to, for security purposes, so the port provides shuttle buses to bring you the short distance to said terminal.
If you'd like me to make a courtesy phone call to your number, just in case you have any quesitons, then let me know a good time for you and I can do that.
End location: Hotel or port or at your requested destination.
Duration: 8 hours
Private car, driven by your experienced and fully licensed tour guide for the panoramice view of Valencia. However, occassionaly I do use a local driver instead of myself. I either use our Mercedes Class B (a small SUV) seating a total of 4 passengers (5 including driver). However, we also may use our 7 seater Opel Zafira, for a total of 6 passengers. Please let me know if you have a preference.
The city center can only be walked in, so you will be on your feet there for at least 2 hours.
-Private car and pick-up with a Mercedes (1-3 passengers) or a Chrysler Grand Voyager (4-6 passengers) and bilingual driver/guide including all driving expenses (gas, parking, etc.). If you are more than 6, I hire a mini-bus with driver for an extra cost
-Entrances to the 'Lonja' Silk Exchange or the Roman museum
-A snack invite (fresh-squeezed juice at market, horchata or another typical snack pertinent to our tour)
-Guided tour by a Spanish-American bilingual professional with more than 10 years in the European tourism industry and official Spanish guide.
-PRIVATE tour, catering only to you with no one included that is not your party.
-Complete flexibility where necessary and experienced suggestions with no personal interest, so you can get the best value wherever you might want to shop or eat.
-Energetic, passionate and involved descriptions to get you totally immersed in our history and culture.
-Commitment to total client satisfaction and American-style pre-tour, touring and post-tour service
Estimated Local Cash Needed
20 € - The combo tour can include entrances, but may not include boat rides, depening on combo chosen.Lunch is also not included but necessary on a full day tour.
-Entrances to the monuments are not included as every group has slightly different interests and closure days can be fairly unpredictable in Spain. You may decide on the day with my suggestions. No entrance fee is more than 5€ and most are around 2-3€ with discounted prices for retirees.
-Our 2pm lunch meal is our largest meal of the day in Spain and the norm is a 3 course meal, costing around 15€, of excellent quality.
