I will make your visit with me utterly interesting and so very relevant in your own life that you will want to come back! I will enjoy taking care of you, help you with your needs and make your time here unique, whether on a customized tour for your specific interests or on one of my pre-developed tours. My average client is like you: worldly, curious and enjoys the personal time spent with a local, with no run-of-the-mill style. And I am truly grateful for all the interesting, unique and kind people I have met from all parts of North America, Europe, Asia and Africa and have had the pleasure of getting to know and sometimes see again.
Why tour with me? 1) Totally bilingual in both English and Spanish 2) Best of two worlds: well-read local but also a true international, innately knowing what you find curious 3) Customer service you can trust 4) Fun, energetic, passionate and interactive commentary 5) Leave with a new friend you can contact again!
As a passionate Spanish-American dual citizen, with me you get the best in North American service standards BUT you also get a well-read local totally loyal to Valencia and Spain. American born, I was brought up traveling a lot when I was young due to my parents' work and was fortunate enough to have become bilingual in Spanish and English at a young age. Even at age 10, I found myself in the front of a van helping my mother with her work, as we described the landscape and translated together. Being a guide is like a family legacy!
I went to the prestigious Bates College, in Maine back in the US and continued travelling on great programs and studied in Ireland, Germany and China and picked up a couple of other languages. 5 days after I graduated, I came to Spain, to Madrid first, to teach English. I thought I would stay for a few months… But that was in 1999. I really and truly did fall in love with the city of Valencia itself, BEFORE I fell in love with my Valenciano husband.
I have worked as a tour guide throughout Spain, France and Portugal through a high-end educational tour company, with both adults and teens since 2005. So, I really do enjoy all ages and family groups as well. I have 3 tri-lingual children myself now but still do road tours a few times a year. I teach very little now and run my own private tour business here as well as do Private Spain Tours. We love the outdoors life and run, hike, bike and roller blade, often through quaint towns in Europe and endlessly discovering.
Although I was not born here, I have a passion and a knowledge about this country and the city that I live, that not every native born has- they may just take it for granted. I get so passionate and excited about being on the very grounds of where the Romans were 2000 years ago, or on the hilltop of my very town where an important battle took place in the 13th century or walking through new art or technology exhibits on the cutting edge of Europe. On every street corner, there are clues into our past and our future and I continuously read and research our treasures and national statistics.
So, please come with me- I look forward to sharing my Valencia with you!

Kate was extremely knowledgeable. We very much enjoyed the tour and listening to her commentary. She also took us to an excellent local restaurant where she ordered tapas for us. We had a wonderful day and would use her again for other tours.
