Cobblestone alleys and charming plazas
Discover the streets and charming plazas of untouched neighborhoods of Rome where you can still breathe the atmosphere of past centuries.
We meet at Campo de' Fiori, the plaza of the market of flowers and vegetables, and we'll walk around charming alleys to admire corners of a no longer preserved Rome, the city of craftsmen and artisans.
We visit the area of the former Ghetto, now a lovely district, where you'll discover the story of the oldest Jewish community of Europe.
We can have a stop in one of the last kiosk serving grattachecca (snow-cone), admiring the Roman bridges at the Tiber Island . Then we'll explore the labyrinth of Trastevere, probably the only area of Rome untouched by Baroque renovations or Fascist demolitions.
Be ready to admire stunning mosaics at the Basilica of St. Cecilia and Santa Maria in Trastevere.
We'll finish just in time for your lunch in one of the local trattorias (family-run restaurant). Trastevere is the place to go for a genuine meal (even for the Romans!).

Our family of 6 (kids age 9 to 15) thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Marisa. The pace was perfect and she had so much knowledge to share. I would sign up for another tour with her in a heartbeat. I only wish we had the time!
