You will be driven to see the Royal Palace, an ornate white fame building overlooking the sea that was built in the 1860's and next you will see the Royal Tombs, which were first used as a burial ground for King Tupou 1 in 1893. The area is known as Mala'e Kula or red ground, a reference to a festival where everyone wore red, which was held here prior to the land becoming a cemetery. Heading off from the Royal Tombs you will drive straight to the Blow Holes witness the pounding of the surf as it's funneled through natural tunnel in the rocky shoreline, emerging in fountains that shoot up as high as 60 feet. Nature of a different sort awaits you in Kolovai, where you will see hundreds of flying foxes clinging to the casuarinas trees. The foxes, which are really bat with fox-like heads, live in large communal groups and primarily feed on fruits at night. Your tour commences from the Royal Tombs to the Captain Cooks site were Cook landed in 1777. A plaque commemorates the event, and a banyan tree grows nearby,
