Let me guide you through Stockholm and show you the highlights of the city and the surrounding areas!
When you have been on this tour, you will feel very much at home in the city.
I will show you places off the beaten track as well as all the "must see's".
We will wander through the old town "Gamla Stan", make our way by boat to the green lush island of "Djurgarden" where many of my favourite museums are. Board the beautiful historic S/S Drottningholm or M/S Prins Carl Philip from the centre of Stockholm and travel along Lake Mälaren out to Drottningholm Palace which is the residence of the Royal Family. We will visit the City Hall where the Nobel festivities take place. Also, I would like to share with you our Swedish traditions and tell you all about life in Sweden!
I hope you will join me on this "Two Day Tour of Stockholm" so I really can show you the best of my home town! Welcome.
Meet up at your hotel or wherever else we agree upon in the city. We will make our way on foot to "Gamla Stan" (Gamla Stan) with the Royal Palace and the lovely narrow cobbled streets full of history. Somewhere on the way we will stop for a break and a Swedish "fika" - coffee and bun. We will then take a boat over to Djurgården where we have Skansen, the ABBA and the Vasa museum, which I suggest we visit. Lunch then back in to the city and a visit to the food court (not open Sundays). Here you can have lunch/dinner.
We walk or take public transport to the City Hall. After a guided tour we will hop on a vintage boat (1hr) out to the Drottningholm Palace and its beautiful gardens. Onboard you can eat lunch. We return by boat to the city. Maybe a drink at the ice-bar?
When we are too tired to walk we can take public transport which is very efficient and easy in the city. I can arrange for a bus pass and you can reimburse me later. We will finish off back at your hotel, unless you decide otherwise.
