from Playa del Carmen and Tulum
One of the best places to start being in contact with the Mayan culture, admire the Caribbean Sea in all its splendor and swim in crystal waters.
The ruins of this Mayan city of the post-classic period (1200-1521 AD) are perhaps the loveliest of the continent because of its location along the spectacular Caribbean. A wall protects a large rectangular enclosure with pyramids, temples and foundations, some of which are on the edge of the cliffs.
Tulum is a small place but wonderful to see, paintings and decoration of the temples are magic, and the view of the Caribbean sea, vegetation and pyramids are incomparable.

This tour of the Mayan Ruins in Tulum was well worth the money. Rosalia is knowledgeable and shares information in a conversational way that engages the participant. Next time I am in Playa del Carmen, I plan to book another tour with Rosalia. This is a great way to learn about the area.
