Fugan canal boat cruise and ex-shipowner's street, and Toyama castle tour.
Fugan canal was constructed in 1935. The canal contributed to the industrialization of Toyama city. It has been preserved as precious water space and for sightseeing purpose since the year 1985, on its 5 km long, with the Nakajima Lock in the middle. The Lock is the only one in Japan, which elevates a passing boat 2. 5 meter high to ajust the difference of water level. The Lock was designated as a national important cultural property in 1998.
This tour starts at Kansui park boarding cruise boat for one hour. The boat arrives at Iwase canal building. We walk to ex-shipowner street and visit Mori-ke, a traditional house for ex-shipowner. We'll walk to get on Toyama light rail train. We get off the rail train at Toyama station. Then, we walk to Toyama castle for 10 minutes, and visit the castle building.
This tour is operated from March 26 to November 25 every year.
9:00 AM : meet at your hotel in Toyama city, Toyama Prefectural Art Museum public Zone.
10:10 AM : board a cruise boat
11:10 AM : arrive at Iwase canal building
11:30 AM : walk to ex-shipowners' street, and visit Mori-ke
2:30 PM : walk to Higashi Iwase station, and board a Toyama light rail train
3:00 PM : arrive at Toyama station, and walk to Toyama castle, and visit castle buiding
4:30 PM : disband the tour
