Petersburg, a city of fabulous palaces, magnificent cathedrals, museums and theatres displaying an extraordinary history and a veritable treasure trove of artwork and culture.
As we sweep along the River Neva you will be introduced to this city of dazzling grandeur, revealing tales of dramatic historic events and tales of personal courage.
A walk through the city streets or a trip on our underground will give a flavour of everyday life with maybe a stroll through the food market and a stop at a café for a coffee or tea with Russian blini or pirrogi.
St. Petersburg is at the heart of who I am, having been born and schooled here and worked as a guide for almost 14 years. I aim to make my tours an engaging introduction to my home city that I love and respect.
With its seductive and sometimes heart-breaking history, I hope to help you to catch a glimpse of this place through the lens of people living here, past and present.
I am very flexible in making arrangements to suite your available time and also your budget. Towards the end of this introduction you will be offered a menu of places to visit so you can pick and choose those places that interest you and suits the pace you wish to set. However the menu is only a taste of what is possible as St Petersburg has much more to offer.
If you are new to my city then you might want me to decide the main highlights that you can visit in a day or two. For instance my visitors love the visit to the Peterhof gardens and Peter's summerhouse Monplaisir and the hydrofoil return trip across the Gulf of Finland back to the city.
If you have particular interests and let me know I will do my best to introduce that element into the tour.
As a licensed tour guide I can organize visas for cruise ship passengers. If you come to St. Petersburg for 2 days look at my 2 day Light shore tour.
Please let me know before you book the tour.
It is a great pleasure to hear from people who want to get to know more about something specific : a particular area of art, a foodie tour, a specific type of architecture. I can tailor the itinerary around your preferences.
I learn from my groups as well.
Some guests (particularly from cruise ships) are willing to organize groups between 5 - 16 people who want to be transported from place to place for a 1, 2, 3 or more days visit. I have worked with cruise ship passengers for more than 10 years.
I can arrange a Mercedes Minibus Sprinter complete with Internet access and bottles of water for larger groups (10 - 16 persons), a Mercedes Viano for 3-5 persons and a comfortable air conditioned car for 1-2 persons. I know you need to be returned to your cruise ships, airports or rail terminals in comfortable time and will build it into the agreed schedule.
When I quote a price it will include entrance to the places that we specify, transport including hydrofoils, visas (if agreed), my services.
This is a sample of places that can be included in your personalised tour.

Elena is an excellent guide, friendly, thoughtful and knowledgable. I feel that I was most fortunate to have had her for my 2-day visit to St. Petersburg. She was prompt, never gave me a worry of gettting lost and an amazing driver and amazing at finding parking spots! Rain did not deter the visit. I wish everyone could have such a visit and guide! carole currey
