30 Kms. east of Rome going through Via Tiburtina you can find Tivoli, where there are two artistic gems, splendid villas from two different ages.
The Villa Adriana dating back to Roman Times and the Villa D'Este from the Renaissance period.
At the foot of the Tiburtini hills you will first see Hadrian's Villa built by Emperor Hadrian based on the memories he had of the monuments and sites he had seen during his travels in the East. with monumental courtyards decorated with mosaics and columns. Next you will find Villa D'Este, one of the most beautiful residences of the Renaissance. More than three hundrend monumental fountains with spectacular water jets are located there, in the heart of splendid italian-style gardens, which create a peaceful symphony of carved stones, shade, sunlight and water.
