Visit the oldest structures of the city and feel the atmosphere of the Petrine epoch
In the course of the tour I will show you around the city's historical part, you will see the earliest structures of the city and find out about the first years of the city and its habitants, about Peter and his striking but controversial personality as well as some amazing facts about events of the Petrine epoch. I'm sure you'll enjoy the walk around the most impressive attractions and catch the spirit of the young St Petersburg
We'll start in the Peter and Paul Fortress (the site where the city was born in May 1707). The cathedral built in 1712 within the fortress walls is the burial place of all Russian Emperors.
After enjoyng the splendor of the cathedral we'll go to the another place closely connected with Peter - a strikingly humble Peter's cabin (the first proper structure in the city, and the only remaining wooden house dating back to the time of Peter the Great).
Ater a nice walk across the Trinity Bridge having one of the most breathtaking views of the Neva river and its islands we'll find ourselves in the Summer Garden (the first regular garden of the city and the place where amazing court feasts and drinking parties took place)

Kate was very energetic, interactive and brilliant, both in her understanding of historical facts and events as well as her ability to communicate well in English. Kate was able to customize the tour specifically for us, and was even able to adjust the tour midstream based on our interests and requests. Overall, her tour was well worth the cost and I would highly recommend it over a group tour or doing it yourself.
