and I am very happy to meet you. 15 Years ago I picked up a newspaper and saw an advertisement for a brand new course that was being offered in Port Elizabeth - Game Ranging and Lodge Management. In that moment I knew that was what I wanted to do with my life! Ironically enough I didn't grow up on a farm, but rather in towns and cities, but I had received my calling. All these years later I still think I have the best job in the world. I feel extremely privileged to be able to show visitors all aspects of my amazing country.
Once qualified I spent time on 3 different Private Game Reserves in the Eastern Cape. This was a time I will never forget in my life and I still recall many incredible experiences I have had with animals. My proudest moments out there were when I was promoted to the first female Head Ranger on two of the Reserves. My time in the bush finally came to an end and once I had moved back to Port Elizabeth I continued my studies to become a Culture Guide. Being a National Guide I have been privileged enough to have travelled throughout South Africa on a number of occasions. Even guiding in Port Elizabeth is always exciting for me. It is a pretty great place to live and we have many attractions in our city - several Blue Flag beaches, a Game Park on the outskirts, great historical sites and a variety of amazing restaurants and coffee shops. Apart from these, Port Elizabeth certainly has a few reasons to brag: we are the Watersport capital of South Africa, The Mohair capital of the World, the Bottlenose Dolphin capital of the World and we have the biggest breeding colony of African Penguins in the World just off our coast!
When I am not guiding I love spending time with my family and friends and even though I cannot play any instruments I do love listening to music. Nature is my passion and it is the place where I am at my happiest. If you were to ask anyone close to me they would tell you that I love animals and that my absolute favourite is an Elephant. When I am guiding you will often see me with my camera in hand as I am a very keen amateur photographer. Really, if you look at it, I certainly do have a dream job where I can combine all my loves - travelling, photography, animals and people. I look forward to sharing amazing experiences with you.
