Explore the Culture and Tradition of Boka Bay
Come join me. We will take the walking tour of the splendid town of Kotor and learn more about the noble art of sailing the seas of the world. Then we will drive along the bay, through picturesque fishermen villages of Muo, Prcanj and Stoliv, where maritime captains traditionally built beautiful baroque stone palaces. We will drive further to the high end modern resort of Porto Montenegro in Tivat, once part of a military harbor, today a modern marina for mega yachts. On our way we will taste some rakija (local grappa or brandy) in a lovely konoba (traditional local restaurant) overlooking the bay. Experience the amazing tradition of seamanship in this area mixed with modern ways of life.
We will start at the front gate of Kotor Old Town. We will do the walking tour, visit the Maritime museum, which is also within the walls surrounding the Old Town. Then, we are off to Tivat, following the coastal road along the Bay. We will make a stop for rakija tasting, and then we are continuing to Tivat to see Porto Montenegro. After a walk, and some free time should you want any, we are getting back to Kotor, but this time, we will be using an alternate road. We are doing this simply because of the splendid views of the Bay of Kotor we will have from a little bit more elevated position overlooking the Bay.
