Visit one of the largest jewish quarter in "Sefarad" and the medieval Europe
A private guided tour through Sefarad, the Jewish Spanish homeland along more than one thousand years.
Toledo Jewish Quarter is in the west side of the city, full of beautiful viewpoints over the river Tajo and picturesques streets. We can still visit two synagogues, Santa María la Blanca (13th century) and Tránsito (14th century), Casa del Judío private underground (14th century), El Greco Museum (not only the great collection of paintings but also remains of Samuel Levi Abulafia palace (14th century)
The area is full of arts and crafts shops where you can see artisans damasceing (inlaiding gold over black steel bases), historical replic armours, swords, pottery and embroideries.
From the meeting point (your hotel in Toledo, Toledo Train Station or Bisagra Gate if you drive your own car)let's do a panoramic tour around the city (by taxi, your own car or turistic public bus)
Then we can reach the Jewish Quarter from San Martín Bridge, through the city walls, to San Juan de los Reyes Monastery (up hill), Sofer Synagogue archaeological remains, Santa María la Blanca Synagogue, Casa del Judío private underground, Transito Synagogue (that holds the National Sephardic Museum)and Greco Museum cellars.

We enjoyed an amazing and advice-filled tour, and are very pleased to have learned about the Jewish history of Toledo from Inma today. Her deep knowledge of the history of her home city, from its beginnings to the present, provides insight into the culture and evolution of this extraordinary place. Inma's directness recalling the perfidy and hostilities of the past leave us with a more realistic and human picture of Toledo's fragile periods of religious harmony and frightening periods of persecution.
