The City of the three Cultures. Walking through the Spanish Middle Ages with a private guide
From the pre-Roman times to the 21st Century. Mainly known as the "former capital of Spain". The Romans made of it an important city, which now we know - thanks to recent archeological research - is at least 4, 000 years old. After that, the barbarians made of it the capital of the Visigothic Kingdom. 100 years after the creation of Islam, it became a Muslim ruled city during 400 years. After that it became a border-line city till the 13th century and then a new period begins, the former main Mosque turns into a new Gothic cathedral finished one year after the discovery of America, in an amazingly way. Let's not forget the relationship between the role played by Toledo's Jewish community and the European Renaissance! All these cultures have left a trail of magnificent buildings and works of art, which speak for themselves.
You'll be picked up at your accommodation in Madrid city and we'll go together for this wonderful Toledo experience.
Pls, note that train tickets must be bought in advance.

The three of us had a delightful day! Susanna has so much knowledge about Toledo and explains it all so well. Susana was very easy to talk to and flexible. One of our members needed wheelchair assistance and Susanna made it all so natural and easy! She went above and beyond. She even helped us organize our train tickets for the next day!
