I was born and brought up in the surburb of Tokyo. After graduating from the university in Tokyo where I majored in English and American Literature, I entered a Japanese global logistics company who gave me the wonderful chance to work overseas.
I have stayed in London three times for fourteen years in total.
This valuable experience gave me a great passion for talking to a lot of people from various backgrounds and it highly broadened my eyesight.
Fortunately enough, I have so far visited 38 countries.
Now, it is my great pleasure to share your precious time together in Tokyo as a host, and help you fully enjoy your stay to the best of my knowledge as my thankful return of experience.
My hobby is playing tennis, piano and travelling around Japan.
It is my unforgettable memory that I fortunately watched Wimbledon tennis tournament matches more than twenty times during my stay in London.
As for travelling, I am especially interested in visiting historical places like old temples, shrines and Onsen (natural hot spring sites) where I can always feel very relaxed and love to taste fabulous local specialty.
I have a fifteen year old black & white cat named Jelly who was born and brought up in London.
I brought him back to Japan. He took such a long journey together with me from London through Nagoya back to my home near Tokyo.
He takes great delight in Japanese cuisine such as fresh tuna.
Japan is the pet friendly country. So, you can find plenty of pet cafes in the center of Tokyo like cat cafe, owl cafe, etc.
Now, let's enjoy together in my tour featuring authentic Japanese history, interesting mixture of traditional and modern culture, natural beauty, unique coexistence of original Shinto and Buddhism religion, and seasonal delicacy of Japanese cuisine.
Overall, I am pleased to organize my tour flexibly in accordance with your interest and request as my purely customized tour only for you.
In case that you are too tired with touring around busy and touristy spots, I will be happy to take you to the serene and nostalgic places where you can escape from hustle and bustle atmosphere.
Should you have any inquiries about my tours, please feel free to ask me anything.
I am very delighted to help you enjoy your holiday in Tokyo to the best of my knowledge and ability.
I would love to see you soon.
A Recent Review of this guide
Masaharu was an excellent guide. He took us to a nice variety of places and sites and was very knowledgeable about the history, customs and local culture. Masaharu was also an excellent navigator through the Tokyo subway system, which allowed us to save much time and see more than we would have alone. He was also very gracious and stayed past our end time to ensure that we were able to return to our intended destination and navigate the rail and subway system on our own.
