When you think of Japan, what kind of images come to mind? If you think about old temples and shrines, beautiful Japanese gardens, tea ceremonies, and other traditional Japanese activities, this tour may be just what you are looking for. On this tour, we will visit the oldest temple in Tokyo and afterward enjoy traditional green tea while admiring the beautiful simplicity of a Japanese Garden. Our final destination will be Tokyo Station, which is one of only two stations designated as an Important Cultural Asset of Japan.
As a licensed guide and professional photographer, I'll be able to tell you a lot of interesting stories about each place while capturing the best moments of our day. Let's explore photogenic Tokyo together!
Kumi will meet you in your hotel lobby and take you to the following spots. An ideal meeting time will be sometime around 1:00pm.
Asakusa (approx. 60 minutes)
--- 35-min boat cruise ---
Hamarikyu Gardens (approx. 45 minutes)
We can end the tour at your hotel, or if you would like to visit somewhere for shopping, dinner, or personal sightseeing, I could take you there and can provide you with directions back to your hotel so that you can return when you are ready.
Meeting Location + Tour Duration
Meeting location: We can meet at your hotel or any other city location that is convenient for you.
End location: We can end the tour at your hotel or any other location that is convenient for you.
Duration: 4 hours 30 min.
*Depending on where you're staying, the tour duration could be somewhere between 4 hours and 5 hours.
Subway, a cruise boat, and walking.
Estimated Local Cash Needed
2500 JPY - Subway: approx. 500 yen
A boat cruise + garden admission: 980 yen
Green Tea and a cake at the Japanese garden: 510 yen or 720 yen (*optional)
FYI: If you want to calculate Japanese yen to US dollars, you could simply remove the last two digits. The figure will be quite close to (approx. 10% more than) the price in USD. So, 2,500 JPY is roughly 25 USD, more precisely 22.5 USD.
In Japan, Tours guides are not allowed to give a ride unless the one has a commercial license (taxi license). Also, tour guides are not allowed to arrange a car and pay on behalf of clients unless the one has the License for Travel Agency Service.

Perfect day! Can't say no more. We went on a special tour just for me. Old Tokyo Neighbourhood. And the new and upcoming designers quarters. We finished the beautiful day at a special saké bar. Awesome all the way.
