Lviv's heart beats vibrantly! Join me and let's explore this wonderful area together
Visit the old town center any day, at almost any time, and you'll find a hubbub of activity going on! On this tour I'll guide you through this lively place, show you the hidden secrets few locals know of, and point out the most interesting stories from this city's chequered and turbulent past.
Depending when you visit, the city center may be alive with a Christmas or Easter market, when locally made souvenirs and food are on offer, or there may be a national Ukrainian holiday, music festival or food market! Whenever you visit, be sure that the city center will be alive with activity, the sound of musicians playing and the smell of wonderful food in the air!
Also, just to say, I'm a very adaptable guide so if you have a specific itinerary in mind send me a message and I'll customize the tour for you!
Starting at the Opera House, we'll walk down the tree-lined central avenue to the towering Shevchenko statue. Here you'll learn that this statue, which was built in 1992 to commemorate the first year of Ukraine's Independence, was in fact not built in Ukraine, but in a country far, far away. . .
We'll say 'hello' to Lviv's own Statue of Liberty, and you'll discover the interesting differences between ours, and the French version. On this tour you'll learn all about the city's once important river, and where to catch a glimpse of it, as well as the former Jesuit Church, Market Square, the Boim family chapel, and I'll tell about about the most scandalous corruption case in this city's history!
You'll discover 19th century CCTV, the Armenian, Assumption and Dominican churches and meet the bas-relief canine who has successfully guarded the latter for over 200 years
Finally, we'll enter the old Jewish area and see where once mezuzahs were embedded into the walls, before being villainously removed
