Traditions and Archaeology of Western Mexico

Discover the traditions and the history of our beautiful country. As you travel inland you'll discover a non touristy Mexico, rather genuine. Colorful fruit stands along the road show you a display of various products of the region invite your taste to discover new flavors. The road goes from green lush coastal plains to fertile valleys sheltered by mountains and ancient volcanoes. A visit to the archaeological site of " Los Toriles" (Aztatlan culture ruins) in Ixtlan del rio Nayarit, will offer you a glimpse of the splendor of ancient mexicans. Upon arriving to the old town of Tequila(1530) the tradition comes alive. As you stroll along quaint plazas surrounded by colonial buildings, the sweet aroma of baked agave awakes your senses . Then you understand that Tequila is more than just our national spirit beverage, it's part of our history, it's a deep tradition inextricable to mexican people.

A Recent Review of this tour

Cervando was an absolute DELIGHT to spend time with. He was extremely knowledgable and engaging from the moment he picked us up at our Conchas Chinas Villa in Puerto Vallarta. He is a passionate and fascinating person who truly loves Mexico and its native people. We had a rather "homogenized" view of PV prior to this tour and will remember both it and Cervando as integral parts of our visit! We can't recommend him highly enough and will return for another visit soon!
