Traditions and Archaeology of Western Mexico

Discover the traditions and the history of our beautiful country. As you travel inland you'll discover a non touristy Mexico, rather genuine. Colorful fruit stands along the road show you a display of various products of the region invite your taste to discover new flavors. The road goes from green lush coastal plains to fertile valleys sheltered by mountains and ancient volcanoes. A visit to the archaeological site of " Los Toriles" (Aztatlan culture ruins) in Ixtlan del rio Nayarit, will offer you a glimpse of the splendor of ancient mexicans. Upon arriving to the old town of Tequila(1530) the tradition comes alive. As you stroll along quaint plazas surrounded by colonial buildings, the sweet aroma of baked agave awakes your senses . Then you understand that Tequila is more than just our national spirit beverage, it's part of our history, it's a deep tradition inextricable to mexican people.

A Recent Review of this tour

Cervando was an exceptional tour guide. He was knowledgable about the historical and cultural information included on our tour and he was a great person to spend time with - friendly, warm and very accommodating. There are not many people you would want to spend 10-12 hours with on a tour, but Cervando made the day educational, interesting and a lot of fun. Thanks for a wonderful experience, Cervando!
