Food & beverage tasting tour with some iconic scenery!
See and taste Canada's Food Island. PEI has ideal conditions for the best of land and sea. On this tour, you will visit a cheese factory and bakery to sample gouda cheeses and taste their gourmet grilled cheese sandwich or amazing pizza (W). Nearby is the North Shore area, where PEI mussels and Malpeque oysters are grown and harvested. At a fishing harbour we talk lobster. A must-stop is the PEI National Park, for some iconic views of our famous beaches & red cliffs!
We then sweeten it up at the Prince Edward Island Preserve Company (W); jam and other preserves made right on site.
Taste the newest versions of mead at the Island Honey Wine Company (W), opened in 2017. Next, lift some spirits at the Deep Roots Distillery with products made with their own certified organic apples. Upon our return to Charlottetown, it's time to sample beer or craft soda/pop at Up Street Craft Brewing (W). Food, beverage and this beautiful Island. (W = washroom on site)
Highlights in proposed order:
As we drive, an overview of historic Charlottetown and brief PEI history and why it is the Birthplace of Canadian Confederation;
