My travel style is relaxed and unhurried, taking time to enjoy the the icons of the Tasmanian experience as well as the hidden treasures that make this place so special.
I can customise a tour for up to 18 people to suit the needs and interests of your group, for one day from Hobart on a cruise ship tour (with timely arrival back at your ship a priority:) or up to 14 days around the state. My beautiful, air conditioned bus "Izzy" can take you out on the road or down bush tracks to more out-of-the way places, including our private bush property, where you can experience panoramic views and the exquisite peace and serenity of the Tasmanian bush.
I was born and raised in Tasmania and spent much of my childhood in the pristine natural wilderness of this beautiful state. I walked the Overland track with my family when I was 10 years old, camped on the beach of the original Lake Pedder, spent Christmases exploring Cradle Mt. National Park, and winters skiing in the mountains.
My love of travel took me overseas to Europe and then to the USA where I met my husband. We have travelled all over the world to Europe, Asia, North America, the south Pacific and the Middle East.
We settled on Whidbey Island near Seattle, Washington for 20 years and travelled to Tasmania regularly to visit my family and show our three children the wonders of this magical place.
We moved back here in 2007 and I continue to be awed and inspired by Tasmania and all that it has to offer, as both a visitor and someone who is so fortunate to live here. We live in South Hobart, at the base of the majestic kunanyi/Mt. Wellington. I am still enthralled by the wallabies, pademelons and possums that graze in our back yard at night, the sound of the black cockatoos as they fly down from the mountain signalling the imminence of stormy weather, and the sight of the sun rising over the Derwent River and downtown Hobart (including the arrival of cruise ships that I can see from my office window).
I look forward to sharing my island home with you. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you would like assistance with planning your trip to our island.
A Recent Review of this guide
Rosie took us to out of the normal tourist areas to explore Port Arthur the way the locals would. It was wonderful to spend the day at our pace and not be with all the other cruise ship tourists. Rosie was very professional in her job, but made us feel like family, rather then cattle being herded from one place to another. If you want a wonderful day in Port Arthur, call On Rosie to take you around.
