Waterfalls cascding from precipitous cliffs
The Takachiho Gorge is a V-shaped gorge, created by the Gokase River, which eroded the Aso lava erupted over 100, 000 years ago. Manai waterfall cascades down to the river below, and it is truly impressive to see the waterfall against a backdrop of dense green foliage and the cliffs. You can enjoy the scenery by rowing down the river and walking the path along the gorge. The gorge is decorated with mountain cherry blossoms and the flowers of azaleas and wisteria from spring till early summer, and red and yellow leaves in fall. Takachiho is associated with the myths and legends of the founding of the nation. There are many interesting sightseeing spots connected to the myths, including Takachiho Shrine, Amanoiwato Shrine, etc. It is not easy to access to Takachiho with public transportation. I will take you to Takachio with a chartered car and show you around Takachiho! If time permits, you may visit Tsujun Bridge and/or enjoy the scenery of the southern Aso area.

Ikue's service is top notch starting from prebooking inquiries to conduction of the tours. Because we were first time visitors to Kyushu we had a lot of questions and Ikue was always punctual and patient in addressing all of my questions and concerns. She helped me with many of my pretour questions, and even made many excellent suggestions for me. She met us punctually at our hotel in Kumamoto and led us on two tours. She arranged airport pick up service to make it so convenient for us!
