Your best stopover in Taipei
In transit at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) or transfering to or from Sungshan Airport (TSA) in the city ? Or are you staying overnight to catch the next available flight ?
Let me know your flight numbers or hotel, and we'll make the best use of your available time to show you the highlights of Taipei. I'll monitor your flight's progress and ETA online.
For early morning arrivals: only vegetable and fish markets plus temples open early. Tourist spots like CKS Memorial, Martyrs' shrine, Taipei 101 open by 0900. National Palace Museum by 0830, closes 1800 Sun/Thu, 2100 on Fri/Sat. Shops open at 1100, most close by 2200.
You decide how and when and where to return to the airport to continue your journey.
Meet you at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (Terminal I or II or Novotel), or Taipei Sungshan Airport (for some flights to/from mainland China, Tokyo, Seoul).
We will travel from Taoyuan to metropolitan Taipei, an area home to close to 9 million people. You would be able to say "I love Taipei" by at least visiting CKS Memorial Hall during the changing of the guard and enjoying the view from the top of Taipei 101.
There is much more to see and do, it's your stay. Let's not forget to sample the variety of food, drinks, fruits and dishes that Taiwan is famous for in restaurants and at night markets.
You'll choose the best way to return to the airport after your city tour. For instance you can take one of the airport buses directly to the airport from Taipei Main Station North bus terminal or Taipei City Hall bus terminal and major hotels, running every 20-30 minutes.
Meeting Location + Tour Duration

Time and content of the tour is flexible, depending upon your flight times. You should have at least --six hours-- between arrival and departure time.
Most airlines in Taiwan apply a Minimum Check-in Time of 2 hours. Travel from and to the Taiwan Taoyuan international airport takes around one hour each way by car or bus.
You may save time by checking through to your final destination, or checking-in for your next flight online or upon arrival in Taipei for a smoother departure.

Christine, her husband Jan, and a driver gave my wife and I an excellent, efficiently compressed tour of Taipei. (7 hour layover, 3 hour tour, airport pickup and timely return for flight). We toured temples, markets, CKS guard changing, National Hotel, President's office/Parliament, with time to walk and talk. Insights on geo-politics, history, religion, customs, food and regional economies provided perspectives. Our limited time was well planned. We highly recommend your private tour.
