Jim is terrific - knowledgeable, thoughtful, thorough, and enthusiastic. Since we had seen very little of Minneapolis previously, Jim made sure we visited (and learned about) the city centers (Minneapolis and St. Paul), the Capitol, the Guthrie, and churches plus the beautiful lakes, rivers, falls, parks, and residential areas. His expertise and insights helped us appreciate greatly the history and cultures of the state/region. It was a full day; we thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Highly recommend!

This tour was a great way to see much of the city in a short period of time. Jim added interesting points of history along the way and answered all our questions. It was great having a "local" who shared personal experiences as well. I would highly recommend this Tour with Jim!

Jim was amazing and very knowledgeable. Loved all the history and making us feel like old friends. Thank you for everything and showing us all the architecture. If you get an opportunity to take this private tour, it is worth it!
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Jodi, Thank you for your kind words. I appreciate them. Thank you also for taking the tour. It was great fun . While I have you, let me confirm that Pike Market in Seattle was not named after Zebulon Pike. Rather it was named after John Pike, an architect who designed the Washington Territorial University. Who knew? Most importantly, I wish you and your good husband nothing but great news and encouraging prospects from your visit with the U of M physicians. Travel well. And thanks again. Jim

Great tour and worth the time.
James D is an excellent guide. He arrived on time to pick us up, and spent far more time with us than expected. He is very careful about his guests needs and interests. After he knew I was an achitect he told me I should have told him that before, so he could focus the tour on that subject. Trying a last hour shift to solve that, he showed us a wonderful house by FLWrigt, and some very nice buildings in downtown Mpolis. After the tour he e-mailed me w/ lots of additional information. Highly recomended!
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Mr. Brandao, the pleasure was all mine. When you return to Minnesota, I would be delighted to show you the architectural gem that is our State Capitol as well as the many "Gilded Age" homes along Summit Avenue in St. Paul. Thanks again. Jim

My tour with Jim was outstanding. He was on time, helped with my luggage, and had a perfect itinerary. His knowledge of history, architecture, and the perfect scenic routes was impressive. I have given him 5 stars and would recommend him to anyone desiring a tour in the St. Paul area.
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Jette, Thank you for your kind words. I enjoyed our tour as well. In answer to your question during the tour, the sculpture that you photographed at Indian Mounds Park is entitled "The Sacred Bowl," and the sculptor is Duane "Dewey" Goodwin, a Minnesota-based, Native American artist. Thanks again. Jim

Jim's tour was outstanding. Informative, interesting, interactive, adaptive to our interests and fun for anyone interested in the history and sites of the Twin Cities. The Capitol at St. Paul is a must see. Jim is a passionate Twin-Cities-lorian and historian with a very interesting background story.
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: John, it was a complete pleasure to show you and your party around the cities, and I am delighted to hear that you all enjoyed it as well. Thanks. Jim

Jim was an articulate and knowledgeable guide, and was kind enough to tailor the tour to the needs of my elderly mother. We only had a few short hours in Minneapolis- St. Paul and Jim definitely made us want to come back. He drove an immaculate new car, and was attentive and informative. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour. TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Glenn and Barbara, Thank you for your kind words. I enjoyed showing you and your friends the cities, and I am delighted to read that you enjoyed the tour as well. As to my car, it is in fact six years old and has over 130,000 miles on it. But I have taken good care of it. In Minnesota, if you take good care of your car, come winter, it will take good care of you. As it happens, I have recently ordered a new car. So when you return, I will indeed have a new car to carry us around. Thanks again. Jim
