Chose the perfect guide for this tour! Mike is a retired History teacher and gave us a good background of the temples and shrines we went to in Nara and Kyoto. He came with prepared illustrations, handouts and a booklet he wrote himself, to better understand Japanese history as we walked the streets of Nara and Kyoto. To top it all, he offered to take pictures of our family at the sights we visited and he did take pretty good shots! Thanks Mike for a great day, though rainy and cold. You made our day!
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Hi Lisa, Thank you for the warm, heartfelt review. This was the last tour of my 160 tours in 2019. Very happy to share precious time with you on New Year's Eve. It seems to be an unforgettable tour for me. You come from Texas. Afraid that you are not accustomed to the coldness of Japan's winter. Please take care of yourself until the last day here in Japan. Please say hello to all your families.
Masaki (Mike) came very well prepared and with a wealth of knowledge to instill in our teenager family. As a quietly spoken history teacher Mike suprisenly engaged and co-earsed our 13 and 15 year olds into learning in sub-zero temps! It was a great day out and the kids woke up this morning wanting to see Mike again!
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Hi Gary, Fireworks last night were really overwhelming and spectacular. In the past five years I spent this day with my guests. This is an event once a year, so I clearly remember the days with my guests. And I am very happy that all of you enjoyed this wonderful show. It was a great day for me. Probably Tokyo today was very cold like Kyoto. A big temperature difference may get you sick. Take care of yourself and your families. Say hello to everybody.
Excellent! We highly recommend this tour. Masaki San showed us Nara during a one day tour. He picked us up at our hotel in Kyoto and together we took the train to Nara. Being a former teacher in history the tour was even more interesting. Very patient, very kind he even showed us the dubious natto in a supermarket. After a long day full of historical insights, we ended up in a typical Izakaya were we sampled local pub food and different sake. Fun indeed! Arigatōgozaimashita and greetings from Switzerland.
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Hi Sandrine, Thank you for sending a good message. Glad to hear that you and your mother are doing well after coming back. How about spending two weeks in Japan? I think dreamy days went by so quickly. Nothing gives me more exciting, thrilling pleasure than the first experiences. Izakaya dinner was an unforgettable memory for me. Thank you for wonderful memories. Please say hello to your mom.

What a great experience! Masaki San was the perfect guide and helpful in every way from guiding me thru the tours with an abundance of historical knowledge on every topic along the way and taking the time to explain the historical significance at each site as well as it's importance in today's society. Not only was he extremely knowledgeable about each subject but he went out of his way to ensure that I would be able to find my way around Nara and Kyoto by providing all the train and bus info I required.
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Hello John, Did you come back home safely. It was only one day encounter for us. But I think we had a good friendship, spending ancient time together in Nara. Remember you are not alone. You are related to each other in this world. Practice the breathing method and meditation if you have time. Hope to see you again.

I cannot say enough nice things about Masaki! My family and I booked him while our cruise ship was docked for the day. From the first email, he was great in helping us decide on the best things for us to do on our limited time in Kyoto. We spent a very fun day together learning so much about Japanese culture and the Kyoto area. We were lucky enough to be there during the beautiful cherry blossom season, and he knew the perfect spots to take us to enjoy them! I would highly recommend him to anyone!!!
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thank you fro a warm message. Cherry blossoms came earlier than usual. You were very lucky to be surrounded by beautiful flowers. Arashiyama Tenryuji is very famous, the best season around this time of the year. This time we walk the westside of Kyoto. The eastern Kyoto miss you. Hope to see you again. Hope God blesses you.
