May W tries very hard, but there are issues. We found May quite forceful and did not always listen. The "office" is 10km out Shanghai, so 10km is required just to cycle back into town through crazy urban traffic. We asked about the French Concession, but without discussion of any extra distance May just shot off cycling 50 metres ahead demanding "just follow me" - adding an extra 20km! By the time we were back in town we were exhausted and abandoned the bikes! Not good. Lunch at Grandmothers was better.
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: dear Christopher, Our bike store is in Japanese concession at the inner ring of the city. we are not far from city center due to Shanghai is a metropolis. And we cycle according to the itinerary. by the way, you knee had problem why not inform us before your booking. And we notice your age is almost 65-70 years old. this full day tour is not for aged and unhealthy customer. You are the first customer put off the bikes at the the road and not carry out the tour.

The day was rainy, but that did not stop us from having a magical time with Mayfer. We road bikes all over Shanghai, and Mayfer was an upbeat guide who shared the city with us from a perspective not usually available to visitors. Absolutely first rate experience!
Mayfer was the most vibrant, funny, educational and energetic tour guide I have encountered over many years of travel. She made our private tour the highlight of our 3 week holiday.

Loved this tour! Mayfer was a great guide and lovely to talk to throughout the whole tour. She gave a great overview of the whole city and was more than willing to take photos whenever you wanted. The tour gave me a perfect look at the city as a whole so I could know where to go to spend more time later. Would highly recommend for anyone who likes to cycle.

Our tour of Shanghai with Mayfer was amazing. Mayfer took us to all three concessions that make up this wonderful city; the Japanese, British and French. She pointed out various architectural sites, gaves us tours through busy shopping districts and took us for an authentic Shanghai lunch. Mayfer spoke to us at length, discovered our interests and focused the tour accordingly. A bike tour through Shanghai is an adventure; one which I highly recommend!!
Great way to visit Shanghai - on a bike, you become a local. Mayfer changed the itinerary so I saw new sights Japanese, French & British quarters, Arts & Crafts museum, the Pudong district and temples. You need to be comfortable on a bike, but I just followed Mayfer, and it was fine. I highly recommend this tour, especially if you have already visited the city and want to do something different. Mayfer is a great guide - enthusiastic, knowledgeable, friendly and she certainly knows her way around.
