This was our second day with Ken and we had our 16 year old daughter with us this time. Ken was as impressive on our second day as he was on our first day. He encouraged our daughter with her Japanese that she studies at home and was flexible to accommodate our requests. He is exceptionally knowledgable and polite and made our day extremely memorable. He managed a mix of public transport and taxis to ensure the best use of our time balance with efficient use of funds. He is amazing. Just book him!
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Hi Catherine, Thanks for your five stars. Hope you have good memory back home. -Ken S.

Ken was a great guide! He speaks very good English, is Knowledgeable about Kyoto and put in a lot of effort to plan our itinerary making our time in Kyoto with him fulfilling. He took me and my family that included 2 children around some of the less tourist beaten path of Kyoto using a combination of walking, train, and metro which saved us time. Ken also accommodated our requests well and planned the schedule fantastically to help us avoid the crowd in the peak of the Autumn leaf viewing season
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Hi Nyen san, Thanks for your five stars. Hope you have good memory back home. -Ken S.

Ken was a knowledgeable, friendly and enthusiastic guide. We had to change our schedule and he was very flexible. Having lived in other countries outside of Japan, he was able to add some perspective and insight. By the end of the tour, he felt like a friend. We recommend Ken without hesitation.

Ken S was our guide in Kyoto on October 27-29. We give him 5 stars. Ken was very knowledgeable and very considerate. One person in our party had some disability and Ken was especially sensitive to his needs, which we appreciated. We enjoyed the sites Ken took us to. He taught us how to use the subways and trains. His English was good. He spent a lot of time with us. We highly recommend him.
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thanks for your five stars. Hope you will bring great memory back home. Best, Ken S.
A fantastic day with Ken ... he is great company and very knowledgeable. It would have taken us days to see all that we saw in one day with Ken! Be prepared for a lot of walking ... 18,000 steps on my Fitbit!! I would highly recommend doing a tour with Ken ... thanks so much for two great days of touring ( we also did the Nara tour )

On time, professional and knowledgeable our time in Kyoto was greatly enhanced by Ken and our trip to Nara and all the sites there was spectacular as well. We would not have made it to as many sites without his assistance, recommendations, his guidance negotiating the transit system - a great blessing and the quick pace he set for us. Provided commentary and context as well. Rick

This tour was everything I hoped for my extra day in Kyoto! Mr. Sakurai met me at the hotel and proved to be a gracious and knowledgeable guide throughout the day. I was so glad to see the Temple of the Golden Pavilion and the Bamboo Forest. Mr. Sakurai had a favorite spot for lunch that proved to be simple and delicious. Also, when we still had extra time at the end of the day, he guided me to a temple near my hotel that I would never have visited otherwise. Thank you so much!

We had 2 full days tour of Kyoto with Ken. He is a pleasant guide. He was considerate to one of our disabled tour member. He was always on the look out to make sure we do not get lost in the busy streets in Kyoto. He is very informative with extensive knowledge of the history of the places we visited. He is very patient especially with photo taking- he volunteered to take photos of us which helped a lot. I highly recommend Ken to anyone. Thanks Ken for a memorable experience of Kyoto.

First full day in Kyoto, we wanted someone to help with giving us the lay of the land in regards to getting about while doing some of the more difficult to get to sites. But also to learn some of the etiquette and history of Kyoto. We met Ken at our hotel and he was fantastic making sure we knew how to get about on our own for the following days while taking us around and giving us a fantastic insight into the history and culture of Kyoto and Japanese history. We highly recommend Ken and any of his tours

This tour was our best tour in our 2 weeks trip in Japan! Thanks to Ken who's got deep knowledge of Kyoto history, it's public transportation (and his knowledge on everything else!), we've learned/experience a lot of western Kyoto through Ken & saved heaps by using train & bus instead of a hired taxi. Definitely we'll ask for Ken's tour again to explore other areas of Kyoto when we visit Kyoto again in the future. Thanks again Ken!
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Hi Tram, Thanks for your five stars. Looking forward to meeting you at the next tour. -Ken S.
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thanks for your five stars. Wish a great seasons greeting for your family ! -Ken S.
Ken was very accommodating, and informative. So pleasant to be with and made sure we got great photos, working around the large crowds. He was an expert not only the best photo spots and best composition, but working the crowd to get us shots without others in it. Impressive. Thank you Ken for great day!!
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Hi David, Thanks for five stars. Hope you have great memory back home. -Ken S.
Ken is a wonderful guide, who clearly loves his job. Very knowledgeable and fun to be around. He is very pro-active, not only about the itinerary but also taking pictures in the best spots. We accomplished a lot in one day with him, so I think that if you have limited time, it is a great idea to have Ken organize your tour. Kyoto has a myriad of temples and shrines for all tastes. Ken is very flexible and can adjust the tour according to your needs and interests. Highly recommended!!

We enjoyed Ken's knowledge, stories and gentle humour. He helped us navigate the public transport system efficiently, to see such a lot in one day. It was a great introduction to our time in Japan as we felt we could ask just about anything. At the end of the day he gave us suggestions and even train timetables for the next day's activities.

It was a pleasure to have Ken guiding us through the streets and history of Kyoto. Thanks to his unending energy, flexibility, and profound knowledge of the history of the city, and its logistics we were able to cover a great deal of it and to understand the forces that built and changed it over time. We even had time for a lot of pictures and for the best meal we have had so far in Japan! We are very grateful for having Ken with us and his next group is going to be very lucky. Thanks a lot Ken!

This was my first day with Ken S. who was great. He is very easy to get along with, very knowledgeable about all the tour sites that we visited, had his "secret" routes away from the touristy crowds, and took many wonderful photos of me. When we returned to my Hotel Granvia, which he had recommended for my stay, he showed me around Kyoto Station, up to the Skyway Walk with its great views. He encouraged me to venture out on my own as Kyoto is a very safe place. I would highly recommend Ken.
